In order to ensure that the United Nations Convention is complied with everywhere, Austria has drawn up a plan. This plan sets out what needs to be improved for people with disabilities over the next years concerning many areas of life. The National Action Plan on Disability is the result of a broad participatory process lasting several years. The Ministry of Social Affairs, which is responsible for coordinating the NAP on Disability and for the national coordination of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, has always ensured the participation of civil society and the involvement of representatives of persons with disabilities during the NAP development process.
