"It is an independent committee that monitors compliance with the human rights of people with disabilities concerning the federal jurisdiction (federal legislation and implementation). It refers to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The members of the committee are: • four representatives of organised persons with disabilities (and one substitute member for each of them) • one representative of a non-governmental organisation from the field of human rights (and one substitute member) • one representative of a non-governmental organisation from the field of development cooperation (and one substitute member) • one representative of academic teaching (and one substitute member). The Ministry of Social Affairs is represented in an advisory capacity."
